How Understanding Our True Nature and Thought Processes Transformed My Life

“Thought is not reality; yet it is through Thought that our realities are created. It is what we as humans put into our thoughts that dictates what we think of life.” – Sydney Banks

Discovering the Power of Thought

For much of my life, I felt trapped by my own thoughts, unable to escape the relentless cycle of overthinking and stress. It wasn’t until I began to understand our true nature and how our mind works that everything changed.

Realising that I am both the thinker and the observer of my thoughts was revolutionary. This awareness transformed my life into one of freedom and peace.

The Teachings of Sydney Banks

A pivotal moment in my journey was when I discovered the teachings of the late Sydney Banks. His insights helped me put together the pieces of how life works. I learned that I didn’t need to believe every thought that crossed my mind.

This realisation took away much of the innocent suffering those thoughts caused me. Simply knowing that my thoughts were not definitive truths gave me a newfound sense of liberation.

Embracing Our True Nature

Banks’ teachings also taught me that our true nature is one of love and light-heartedness. This profound understanding helped me recognise that when I wasn’t feeling loving or light-hearted, it was a signal that I had gotten lost in my thoughts.

This simple yet powerful insight allowed me to become more aware and mindful.

The Simple Breath of Stillness

One of the most effective tools I learned was the use of a simple breath. Whenever my mind started racing, taking a deep breath was enough to pause and centre myself. This small act provided the space I needed to surrender to a state of stillness, enabling me to remember my innate divine intelligence.

Each breath reconnected me with my core, bringing tranquility and clarity.

Living with Peace and Freedom

Understanding the workings of our mind and our true nature has transformed my life. I now experience a profound sense of peace and freedom that I never thought possible.

By recognising that my essence is loving and light-hearted, and that I can observe and choose my reactions to my thoughts, I navigate life with greater ease and joy.

Final Thoughts

In essence, learning from Sydney Banks and understanding the interplay of thoughts and true nature has been life-changing. It’s a continuous journey of self-discovery and growth, but knowing that we have the power to observe our thoughts and choose how we react to them makes all the difference.

Here’s to embracing our divine intelligence and living a life of peace and freedom.

Namaste- I honour the place in you in which the entire universe resides. I honour the place in you, of love, of light, of truth, and peace. When you are in that place in you, and I am in that place in me, there is only one of us.
